Presales Engineer
Clutch Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Presales Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT solutions and the Value-Added Reseller (VAR) space, with proven experience supporting sales teams in designing and positioning technology solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge business needs with technical solutions, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering unparalleled value to customers.
- Customer Consultation: Partner with clients to understand their infrastructure needs, challenges, and long-term business goals.
- Solution Architecture: Design and architect end-to-end data center solutions across compute, storage, networking, and backup/recovery.
- Technical Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for leading vendor technologies, including:
- Servers/Compute: HPE (ProLiant, Synergy), Dell (PowerEdge)
- Storage: HPE (3PAR, Primera, Alletra), Dell (PowerStore, PowerMax), Pure Storage, NetApp
- Networking: Cisco (Nexus, Catalyst), Arista, Juniper
- Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Veritas
- Virtualization: VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V
- Proof of Concept (PoC): Plan, execute, and deliver successful PoCs to validate proposed solutions.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with sales teams to create technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Presentations & Demos: Deliver engaging presentations and solution demonstrations for both technical and business audiences.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within the West Coast region for customer engagements and industry events.
- 5–7+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering or senior technical roles.
- Strong expertise in core data center infrastructure: compute, storage, networking, and virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with multiple vendor platforms (HPE, Dell, Cisco, Pure Storage, etc.).
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications (HPE ASE, Dell Certified Professional, Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP, Pure Storage Certified Professional) strongly preferred.
