The Challenge

A large healthcare clinic in Ohio was approaching its annual client hardware refresh, a critical process for maintaining smooth hospital operations and supporting patient care. Their long-standing VAR committed to executing the project but failed to deliver on both performance and service expectations. 

Clutch Solutions was brought in to recover the opportunity and restore the clinic’s confidence in the refresh process. Working closely with the IT department, Clutch mapped out a delivery cadence that aligned with the hospital’s internal schedules, ensuring each monthly shipment would arrive on time and without disruption to day-to-day care. 

During presales planning, the project scope expanded. While the initial budget covered 500 units, it became clear that the hospital needed to replace significantly more hardware to maintain high operational standards. Unfortunately, additional funding was not readily available. 

 

The Solution

Clutch Solutions partnered with Lenovo to design a standardized, repeatable deployment model for the clinic’s annual refresh, streamlining logistics and ensuring consistent quality. Leveraging Clutch’s expertise in healthcare IT environments, the team worked side-by-side with the hospital to uncover creative ways to maximize the existing budget while addressing the expanded need. 

By integrating Clutch’s IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) practice, the hospital could recover value from retired hardware, effectively creating additional funds to replace even more units without exceeding budget constraints. This solution not only extended the life of the refresh program but also contributed to the hospital’s sustainability goals.

The Results

Clutch Solutions and Lenovo were awarded the contract to deliver the annual refresh, rolling out 500+ units over a 12-month period while recovering funds through ITAD to cover additional replacements. The result was a future-proofed hardware environment that:
